1Who We Are
RTForge is an independent game studio based in Bratislava, Slovakia. It is currently operated by an individual developer and is not a separate incorporated company.
RTForge operates the Website and is the party you are contracting with under these Terms. You can reach us at rtforgestudio@gmail.com.
2Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using the Website you agree to these Terms. They form the agreement between you and RTForge in respect of the Website.
If you are using the Website on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
3What the Website Is
The Website is an informational site about RTForge, its games and the work it takes on. It is provided free of charge.
It has no user accounts, no registration, no shop and no checkout. Nothing on the Website is an offer to sell, and nothing on it constitutes professional, legal, financial or technical advice.
Information about games in development — including features, artwork, platforms and release dates — describes work in progress and may change. It is not a commitment, and it does not form part of any contract.
4Permitted Use
You may view, browse and share links to the Website for your own personal or internal business purposes.
Journalists, content creators and other members of the press may quote from the Website and use the game screenshots and trailers it presents to report on or cover our games, provided RTForge is credited and the material is not altered in a way that misrepresents it. If you need assets in a form the Website does not provide, write to us and we will help.
5Things You May Not Do
You agree not to:
- use the Website for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of these Terms;
- interfere with the Website or the servers or networks that serve it, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, probing for vulnerabilities, or overloading it with automated requests;
- introduce malware or any other harmful code;
- scrape, harvest or systematically copy the Website’s content to republish it as your own or to build a competing or derivative product;
- remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice;
- frame or mirror the Website, or present it in a way that suggests an association with, or endorsement by, RTForge that does not exist;
- use the Website’s content to train a machine learning model, except where such use is expressly permitted by applicable law.
Nothing here is intended to prohibit good-faith security research. If you find a vulnerability, please tell us at rtforgestudio@gmail.com before disclosing it publicly, and give us a reasonable opportunity to fix it.
6Intellectual Property
The Website and its content — including its text, design, layout, graphics, 3D models, animations, shaders, source code, and the RTForge name and logo — are owned by RTForge or used by it under licence, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Except for what section 4 permits, and except for what applicable law allows without permission, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, publicly display or make derivative works from the Website’s content without our prior written consent.
Nothing on the Website grants you any licence or right in RTForge’s intellectual property beyond what these Terms expressly state.
7Third-Party Names and Trademarks
Names, logos and trademarks that belong to other companies — such as Steam and Valve Corporation — are the property of their respective owners.
They appear on the Website solely to identify the platforms our games are distributed on and the services the Website interacts with. Their use does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from those owners.
8Links and Embedded Content
The Website links to external services, and it embeds media — trailers and screenshots for our games — served from the content delivery network of the store that sells them rather than from our own servers.
We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. A link or an embed is not an endorsement. Once you follow a link you are governed by that service’s own terms.
What loading the embedded media means for your personal data is described in section 7 of the Website Privacy Policy.
9Our Games, Stores and Purchases
You cannot buy anything on the Website. Our games are sold and distributed through third-party stores — at present Steam, operated by Valve Corporation — and any purchase you make is a transaction with that store’s operator, under that operator’s own terms.
Payment, refunds, account issues and store availability are therefore matters for the store, and are handled under its refund policy and subscriber agreement rather than under these Terms.
Your use of a game itself is governed by the terms that accompany that game and by the terms of the store you obtained it from, not by these Terms. How a game handles personal data is set out separately in that game’s own privacy policy, which is linked from the game’s section on this site and from its store page.
10Enquiries and Unsolicited Ideas
The Website invites you to write to us about client work and other projects. An enquiry is just that: it creates no contract, and no work is agreed until it is agreed in writing between us on terms we both accept.
Correspondence is not treated as confidential unless we have agreed confidentiality in writing beforehand. Please do not send us confidential information, and do not send us anything you are not entitled to disclose.
Please also do not send unsolicited creative ideas, game concepts, designs or proposals. We cannot accept them. If you send them anyway, you agree that we are under no obligation of confidence or compensation in respect of them, and that we remain free to develop work of our own that may resemble them — game development converges on similar ideas often and independently.
11Availability and Changes
We aim to keep the Website available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free or free of harmful components.
We may change, suspend, restrict or withdraw the Website or any part of its content at any time, without notice and without liability to you. The Website is demanding of graphics hardware, and we cannot guarantee it will run correctly on every device or browser.
12No Warranty
The Website is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all representations, warranties and conditions that are not expressly stated in these Terms, whether implied by statute, common law or otherwise.
In particular, we do not warrant that the information on the Website is complete, accurate or up to date. Information about games in development is especially liable to change.
13Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RTForge is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, data or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Website.
Because the Website is provided free of charge and carries no transaction, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Website is limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intent or gross negligence, or any mandatory statutory rights you have as a consumer.
14Privacy
How we handle personal data in connection with the Website is set out in the Website Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Personal data processed in connection with playing our games is covered separately by each game’s own privacy policy, linked from that game’s section on this site and from its store page.
15Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised.
The version in force is the one published on the Website when you use it. If you continue to use the Website after a change, the updated Terms apply to that use.
16Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or with the Website, are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
The courts of the Slovak Republic have jurisdiction over such disputes.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this choice of law and jurisdiction does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings there where applicable law gives you that right.
We would much rather sort a problem out directly, so please write to us first at rtforgestudio@gmail.com.
17General
- Severability — if any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force, and the invalid provision is treated as replaced by the valid one closest to its intended effect.
- No waiver — if we do not enforce a right under these Terms, that is not a waiver of it.
- Entire agreement — together with the privacy policies referred to above, these Terms are the entire agreement between you and RTForge in respect of the Website.
- Assignment — you may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example if the studio is incorporated or its business is transferred, provided your rights are not prejudiced.
- Language — these Terms are published in English, which is the governing version.
